To savor is to deeply experience, to the utmost, at every level, a sensation, or a feeling. This allows the special uniqueness of the moment to have maximum impact on one's consciousness.
It could be the eating of a carrot, sensing on the molecular level the smell and taste, peering into the energy of it by concentrating on the feeling derived from observation of all of it's basic elements, and the feeling of it's texture as it is ground into tiny particles for maximum absorption.
When savoring a moment, such as the sight of a sunset, it would be difficult to fully appreciate it while driving in traffic, since attention is split between the task of driving and the sunset. But by pulling off the thoroughfare, enjoying the colors present, the radiant energy as it falls away while the Earth spins, can increase the delight in the moment and allow one to fully relish in the sight.
To be able to savor any point in time, the health of the individual is necessary, otherwise, the senses are not capable of fully engaging in the moment. One has to be there, in total, to fully enjoy, to savor, life.
