Why religion is important?

Isolated by themselves, religions are bunk, but seen as a part of the process of mankind's yearning for the truth of our existence, they play an important part.  Whenever a new civilization/culture developed, a religion, a belief system in some higher power, would also be created.  After all, religion derives from the word to reconnect, i.e., to reconnect with one's Creator.  It is mankind's quest to answer questions about life on this planet.  It is inbred for humans to ask this question: is this seen world all there is?

Many peoples' first exposure to the unseen aspects of life is through the religions.  A problem develops when thorough indoctrination chains a person's consciousness so they only see life through the narrow-angled lens of their religion, failing to see the BigPicture of the human desire to know our Creator.   This narrow view of religion develops clashes between the various viewpoints, since each has been taught and believes their view is the correct one.  They have been indoctrinated to believe that if they have faith in their view, they will be saved according to the teachings of their religion- from what, death?

There is very little probability that the powers controlling the world's religions will ever give up their entrenched hierarchy.  So for the foreseeable future there will remain pockets of humanity which can see through all the divisions which all the separate religions have induced.
