What Would the Ultimate Goal of Yoga be...

What would be the ultimate goal in the reunification of the conscious and unconscious minds later in life, which yoga seeks to achieve?  This is to be more of what we are, fulfilled in that our purpose/reason for existence has been completed.  Imagine folks from all walks of life being enlightened, their conscious minds being illuminated by the light which was all the time residing in them (although not being aware of it shining in the background), but now being complete not only in their social but also in their spiritual development.  Yearning stops, for the Big Picture is seen and a person can see their place within that larger picture.  This naturally leads to a doctor being an unusually insightful practitioner, a teacher extraordinaire, a politician altruistic;  whatever the profession, the person who has integrated to that end can feel deeper, think sharper, their actions directed by great compassion/empathy/wisdom.
